چکیده
The development of productively viable cropping systems with lower environmental footprints to maintain sustainable agriculture in arid areas is urgently needed. Increasing crop diversity usually improves system productivity; however, the effects diversification on carbon footprint and sustainability a remain unclear. A 3-year field experiment (2018–2020) was conducted northwestern China determine productivity five systems, including spring wheat-common vetch/maize double relay (three crops year), wheat-maize intercropping (two year) vetch multiple monoculture maize (one wheat year). grain yield for (the former) higher by 8.7% 2020 as compared latter). For same two energy former 9.5–25.1% over 3 years. were respectively 5.3%, 14.3%, 16.4%, 7.4% than that latter terms unit area, kg yield, economic output. Four 12.2%, 27.9%, 37.6%, 29.6% maize. highest index observed three per year (0.94), due footprint. This first demonstration increased via plot annually maintained without increasing irrigation areas. results partly confirm positive effect diversified integrating green manure into an system. Enhancing economic water productivity under on farm reservoirs in diversified rainfed cropping systems
A long term study was done to assess the impact of on farm reservoirs (OFR) on oil seedand cereal based cropping systems with vegetables (okra, tomato and carrot) in semi-aridalfisol of southern Telangana region. Two supplemental irrigation (SI) depths (30 and 50 mm)from OFR with raingun system were studied for assessing the water productivity andprofitability of the technology in these croppin...

Building on farmer’s agroecological knowledge to design environmental-friendly agricultural systems is crucial given the environmental impact of industrial agriculture. We investigated the drivers of farmers’ knowledge of agrobiodiversity management and analyzed how farmers’ knowledge and their current farming contexts may guide future farming systems in sub-humid (Bassila) and semi-arid (Bouko...

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
